Crystalline
Definition: Constituent element of the EYE, shaped like a transparent biconvex lens, enveloped by a capsule (CRISTALLOID) and located behind the IRIS and in front of the GLASS BODY.
Complement intended for professionals: It is attached to the ciliary body by crossed fibres. It is the main medium of REFRACTION of the eye with 10-20 dioptres. The CRSITALLIN is nourished by diffusion from the ACQUEOUS OIL. A decrease in its transparency, disturbing vision, forms the CATARACTE.
