Meibomian gland

Synonym(s): Meibomius, Gland
Definition: These are sebaceous glands situated on the deep surface of the EYELID between the tarsals and the CONJONCTIVE. They lubricate the palpebral rim and prevent fluid leakage. Also called tarsal glands.
