Definition: In the case of complete oculomotor paralysis, the EYES are paralysed, the EYE is in an inferior position and the PUPIL is widely dilated.

Additional information for professionals: These are diseases of the common OCULOMOTOR NERF or nucleus. They result in weakness or paralysis of the superior rectus, the inferior rectus, the medial rectus, the inferior oblique, the levator of the upper eyelid and/or the parasympathetic innervation of the PUPIL. Associated diseases include neoplasms, CRANIOCEREBRAL TRAUMATISM, ischaemia (associated with DIABETES, in particular) and aneurysmal compression.
